UNION, NJ – Union Police arrested a Newark-based man in connection to a series armed gas station robberies on September 5th.
Joseph Young was arrested, following an investigation that involved the Union County Prosecutor’s Office as well as the Union Police Department.
Union Police Department received reports on 5 September that three separate robberies had taken place along Garden State Parkway, all within 30 minutes. The robberies were committed by multiple suspects who arrived in a stolen automobile at gas stations and threatened the victims with guns. The victims of two of the crimes were assaulted.
Young, a suspected armed robbery suspect, was identified after an intensive investigation. In Newark, on the 13th of September, Young was then arrested after a chase with a vehicle. Young is currently in Essex County Jail while awaiting further Court Proceedings.
Two counts each of third degree aggravated assualt, two of third degree conspiracy to perpetrate aggravated attack, and one charge of endangering welfare of child in third grade, are all charges against him.
