A five-story building on Jalan Kuchai Lama fell down last night and damaged at least 10 cars.
The incident occurred at around 10.40pm in Block A of Sri Desa Kuchai Building, Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park.
Amihizam Abdul Shukor (Assistant Commissioner) said that the preliminary inspection of Fire and Rescue Department found no victims.
The police responded to public notification by surrounding and closing the area in order to avoid any unwanted incidents.
He said that the fire department conducted an inspection of each floor, and there were no victims found.
Amihizam, the fire and police department’s spokesperson said that until the authorities have confirmed the safety of the building the building will be closed.
The public should not speculate on what occurred and stay away from this scene.
The authorities have begun an investigation into the cause of the incident, since it occurred in a good weather and without rain.
Two police officers, 10 policemen from Brickfields and two officers with 17 policemen and civil defense members (APM) of Kuala Lumpur City Hall and Malaysian Civil Defense Force were involved in the follow-up operations.
