One local high school has taken on a new challenge in preparation for football season. The Burns Flat Dill City high school football field and stands were damaged by the storm on Saturday.
Jason Jones, the coach, said: “I just thought, we are still going to play football.” “We’ll still play some games.”
The roof has been damaged and there is insulation all over the room. The roof of the press box has fallen to the ground after the stand was blown away.
Larry Johnson, Superintendent of Burns Flat Dill City Schools, said, “Once our adjusters have given us their okay, we will be able to move forward.”
Jones said that the damages are minor, and won’t have any impact on their performance.
Jones told the team to “treat it like it never happened.” No matter where our team is, we’ll fight and play hard every single night.
At the 50 yard line, we will install a temporary announcer’s box and pressbox. The temporary look will not matter. Johnson stated that what matters most is the outcome on the pitch.
The players look ready for the new season.
Christian Eakins is a Junior at the School and he said that he was ready to begin the season.
Robert Pleza Jr. is a student at the school and he said, “I think we are going to do well this year.”
What they are told doesn’t really matter.
